The Write Advice- Business Writing and Consulting

The Write Advice is operated by Christy Hall Benson, a freelance business writer and consultant. Christy is also a part-time college instructor in Charlotte, North Carolina where she teaches writing. She currently authors a column on advanced legal writing for Legal Assistant Today, a national trade magazine for paralegals (http://www.legalassistanttoday.com/).

All of her adult life Christy has always written for friends and friends of friends which eventually led her to form The Write Advice Business Writing & Consulting. In 2007, she decided to end a successful career in the legal profession to teach writing and to help others write better. She is grateful for the writing experience obtained while working more than 15 years as a paralegal because she had the opportunity to create thousands of documents including presentations, business letters, memoranda, contracts, and brochures, just to name a few. Christy has written many articles on writing which have been featured in state and national publications including The LAD News, North Carolina Lawyers Weekly, and The National Association of Legal Assistants’ journal, Facts&Findings. She also likes to write for charity events and is the script writer for the Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast Healing Threads Fashion Show which is held annually.

It began early. . .

In the third grade when most students in her elementary school were papering their classroom walls with artwork, Christy wrote two books for the school library. That love of writing eventually led her to UNC Chapel Hill to further her education where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the school’s prestigious Journalism program. According to the National Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications, the “School of Journalism and Mass Communication at UNC-Chapel Hill is recognized by academics and media professionals as perhaps the best program in the nation.” To see more about this program click here http://jomc.unc.edu/. Christy is a die-hard Tarheels fan and has fond memories of working at The Daily Tar Heel while in college.
